I've finally began my first 'good' publication. "The Bridgeworld" will hopefully be hitting your screens sometime during the summer. Here's a brief description of this haunting new chapter:
Long ago in Ancient China, an Emperor strived to unleash immortality. His loyal, thriving kingdom adored his needs - his watching priests and monks worshipping at his feet. At last, as his rule was at its most powerful, a power from the stars met his every desire. He had found what his ancestors only dreamed about.
For fifteen long years, the Emperor watched his kingdom wither and frail, its inhabitants turning grey under his eyes. He sat on his throne, his leather skin peeling and cracking with the disease that ate his body, only to heal under the power that his priests gave him. He did not want this.
The rumouring danger of neighbouring tribes and armies soon threatened his helpless life and kingdom. He was too fragile to fight and he was not about to let his secret become known. And so he was forced to do something he thought would lie dusted for eternity.
For years before his downfall, he had been constructing his elaborate tomb deep within the mountains of Tibet where he had found his alien power. As the days, the months and the years went on, he was advised to protect what he held in his veins, the pulsing power that was preserving his soul. The Bridgeworld was completed.
The Emperor had said that if ever danger rose, he would keep his power safe and out of evil's way. His priests and monks were ordered to lock him inside The Bridgeworld along with the remaining inhabitants of his kingdom, who perished innocently as the centuries drove on. When the time came in the distant future, only a stone tablet would hold the secret to releasing the power once more. Only then would the Emperor be free from his years of torture, alone and lost in a world of bridges.
Lara Croft is contacted by her old friend, Maxwell Spencer, to aid the investigatation of a chest fished out of Kowloon Bay by a Chinese fishing trawler. The contents of the chest lead Lara and her friend on a journey to a forgotton legend, a ruthless adventurer following their every move.
It is only upon stepping into the mountain do they realise the terrifying presence within the snow, soon leading them discover the disturbing history of an insane Emperor who found something too powerful to imagine...
